Water Treatment - Systems
There are a few methods of treating your water if it is hard, for example:
Ion Exchange
A simple method - as mains water enters your system it is passed through a filter, or a mineral bed. This has the
effect of removing larger particles and impurities from the water - those which cause the water to be hard. After the water
has passed through the mineral bed it comes out through your taps as softened water. The process also uses salt, which the
unit will add during it's regeneration cycle. Salt deliveries are simple and easy to arrange through Pure Choice, call us
for details on 0800 068 1857.
Reverse Osmosis
A fairly new and extremely effective method of softening water. It out performs filtration as it removes even smaller
particles from the water - including bacteria and nitrates. It involves the water being passed through a membrane, and
waste water that is of lower quality passes back out into your drain, the high quality water only entering your drinking
tap.
Distillation
An incredibly effective method of treating water and purifying it. It is suited to domestic users if required, please call
us if you wish to discuss this. Distillation is also suited to commercial users, such as
laboratories or archives, where the purest possible water is a distinct necessity.
Filtration
This method collects and excludes hard particles from your water. Carbon filtration also takes out organic compounds and
chlorine - and is much more convenient and economical than buying bottles! Great tasting water, but without the waste that
bottles create.
